Johanna Ochoa Luna is a Mexican-born and raised bilingual multimedia journalist based in San Francisco, CA. With a passion for storytelling, she enjoys reporting on culture, art, entertainment, community, social justice, and health.
Her work has been featured in the newspaper El Norte and Magazine Gustos & Pasiones in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. She has also contributed to El Tecolote and The Guardsman newspapers in San Francisco, CA.
As a multimedia journalist, Johanna has produced stories for web, social media, and print formats, including audio and video content. She enjoys creating profiles, conducting interviews, writing scripts, voicing over content, and appearing on camera.
Johanna holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and a Technical Degree in Announcing for TV and Radio from Universidad de Comunicación Avanzada in Monterrey, México. She recently completed the Multimedia Broadcast Journalism program at City College of San Francisco.
During her college years, Johanna developed and created a radio show on the University’s radio station, which she later took to a formal online radio station in Monterrey, México as a radio host and producer.
Currently, she works as a Producer for KRON4’s lifestyle show ‘LIVE! in the Bay,’ where she plays an integral part in developing the content daily, securing new talents and scheduling guests for the one-hour show, which airs Monday through Friday. She is responsible for producing the live show, bringing her creative vision to life on air every day. She manages the show’s social media presence, creating engaging content, monitoring comments, and growing the online audience across platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. She writes articles for the show’s website on WordPress, providing readers with in-depth coverage of the latest events. Furthermore, she has collaborated as a co-host.
When she’s not working, Johanna loves being outdoors, hiking, running, cooking, and working out. She’s also an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new places with warm weather and ocean views.
